During
this session, students used flagged stakes to map the countour of the
land. Application of this technique is important to the ground ripping
process to trap water in the contours and to slow natural water run-off.
Students
enjoyed the comparison of modern surveying equipment to the primitive
(yet accurate) tools developed my Mr. Cox (below) in determining the
contour of his land.
